FUNCTION AND SKETCHUP DEFINITION

Sketchup is a software that has a function in a 3-dimensional model of graphic design that is used and designed for professionals in the field of civil engineering, architecture, in making games, films, and designs related to it.

SketchUp Software development was developed by the startup company @ last software boulder, Colorado which was formed in 1999. In 2000 sketchup was used as a tool in 3D design. The award was won by the Committee Choise Award at an exhibition in 2000.

SketchUp Make (Free) Software

This graphic design software was developed by Trimble, providing software that can be downloaded for free.

SketchUp Pro Software

In addition to free, Trimble also provides pro software (paid) at a price of USD 590.00. Many graphic designers use paid software because on sketchup free some menus cannot be used while on sketchup pro all menus can be used and for imfort more than SketchUp free (free).

Main ToolBar

1. Pencil: Pouring the line in the image with a point, this is easier because when the line is straight to the desired place, the end point becomes green

2. Rectangle (Square), Circle (Circle), Arc (Curved Line): Form a flat building to be processed later into 3D

3. Push / Pull: this is the basis of 3D, after creating a flat field in the drawing area, you can use this tool to make it 3D

And there are still many other features in SketchUp such as zoom, eraser and others.

2. Lack of Sketchup

Because of the simplicity of Sketchup, it is difficult to use advanced modeling even though using a plugin

Crash occurs when there are many patch and vertex surfaces (occurs when importing advanced models such as human models from 3ds max to Sketchup)

The picture is not satisfactory

This is my best result when I first tried designing a 3-dimensional building using 3D Sketchup.

Energy efficiency

Construction of a good home must pay attention to energy use efficiency. Energy-efficient home construction in tropical Indonesia is not as complex as home construction in subtropical countries, because there are no extreme seasonal changes. Energy requirements for lighting, insulation, ventilation, air conditioning, etc. are not as big as houses in countries with four seasons. Energy efficiency can be maximized by using natural lighting during the day, proper lighting layout, use of energy-saving lamps, heating and ventilation on walls, selecting roofs that do not absorb heat, and using energy-efficient electrical equipment.

In the design of energy-efficient homes, including all building designs that are environmentally friendly, by minimizing renewable energy use and optimizing the use of natural energy. Limited natural resources make the construction of energy-efficient homes increasingly relevant from now on.

Earthquake protection

In accordance with Law No. 28 of 2002 concerning Building Buildings, each building must meet safety requirements, one of which is protection against earthquakes. Earthquake forces can only be held by a continuous structural system (continuous force path) from the top of the building to the ground.

In daily activities, people are usually outside the home to work, go to school or do other activities. The activities most often carried out in the house are rest and sleep. The rest, the house serves as a place of activity between family members or friends, both inside and outside the yard.
